What is a Sport Physician?

To become a Sports Medicine Physician, licensed Medical Doctors must pass a Diploma Examination of the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine (CASM). Successful completion of these examinations enables the Physician to use the title "Diploma in Sport Medicine" or "Dip. Sports Med". The Canadian Academy of Sports Medicine is an organization of physicians committed to excellence in the practice of medicine as it applies to all aspects of physical activity. The mission of CASM is "to be a leader in advancing the art and science of Sport Medicine, including health promotion and disease prevention, for the benefit of all Canadians through programs of education, research and service."
